Whether looking to indulge in a luxury spa break, book the very best facial in the capital or find a new hairdresser, Pamper Pages makes luxury beauty and much needed indulgence just a click away.
Hi Mel, thank you for talking to us. What inspired you to create pamper pages?
I understand the industry really well as my career ranges from working in hair salons, spas right up to selling luxury skincare brands. After briefly leaving the industry and becoming the customer, I came across endless websites offering discounted treatments, with no actual information on the services offered or the quality of the treatments being provided.
That’s what prompted the idea of Pamper Pages. Now 4 years on, Pamper Pages is a user-friendly platform, where customers can obtain information prior to booking a treatment and the business can showcase their offerings on a deeper personal level. Most of our activity is on social media and we have built a larger following across the UK.
What, in your experience, makes a great beauty experience?
Great question and for me it’s a whole mix of things; not just the treatment itself. First impressions are extremely important, so a welcoming friendly reception team, as well as a clean clinic/salon with refreshments. The room temperature and a comfortable bed is the perfect setting for any treatment. I love treatments where I can mentally switch off but I also love treatments that are results focused; whether it be a knot free back from a massage, silky feet from a pedicure or glowing skin after a facial. I really like to maintain the results at home too, so being able to purchase some homecare products is also a must.
Which brands/products are your favourite and why?
Oh this is tough one as my bathroom cabinet is full of lotions and potions from a wide range of different brands. But my absolute favourite would have to be Thalgo.
They have the best spa treatments which will leave your mind and body completely relaxed, as well as giving the most unbelievable results. They also have a massive homecare range with the most beautiful aromas and paraben-free.
What are the challenges being faced by the industry and how do you think they can be overcome?
I think the most difficult thing within the industry is getting your name out there.
Being active on social media and maintaining that engagement is extremely important but also very difficult. Getting seen on different platforms and profiles, helps you reach a wider audience, which will ultimately create more sales.
What do you miss the most about (pre?)lockdown?
I miss the freedom of being able to do what you want. I also miss treatments and eating out in restaurants.
